FreeDesign to Support Google SketchUp Format

Powerful Modeling System Takes Advantage of SketchUp Popularity

Longmont, CO July 31, 2006 -FreeDesign, Inc., the creator of breakthrough 3D surfacing technology, today announced that it will be demonstrating FreeDimension's support of Google SketchUp file formats as a 3D import at the SIGGRAPH event.

FreeDesign has created breakthrough 3D surfacing technology, which enables users to quickly and intuitively create and stylize 3D models easily and with freedom. The underlying technology is ideal for quickly creating what used to be challenging 3D models - including organic shapes - with smooth surfaces and an easy user interface.

FreeDesign's product, FreeDimension, now accepts import of .KMZ files from Google SketchUp and allows basic 3D designs to be quickly and easily developed into more organic and flowing shapes.

"The decision to support Google SketchUp format was an easy business decision," commented Dick Sowar, CEO, Free Design Inc. "Our product is all about having fun while designing great things. So is SketchUp. We deliver a simple interface while providing highly advanced surfacing. This makes for a great combination, and a way to advance 3D design even further, while still keeping the rewards for having a simple but usable solution.

FreeDimension is based on the patent-pending N-Sided Surfacing (NSS) technology, which frees users from quadrilateral surfacing technologies like NURBS and Bezier surfaces. The NSS technology enables FreeDimension to present a curve-based interface to the user that more closely mimics the pencil and paper method of design, creating more freedom and innovation for designers in product development, industrial design, 3D gaming, entertainment and more.

FreeDesign will be unveiling FreeDimension at SIGGRAPH 2006, and will be located at booth # 2126. Free Trials of the software will be available at the booth and as a take-home CD for qualified attendees.

About FreeDesign, Inc
FreeDesign has created breakthrough 3D surfacing technology that is the foundation for the companys product FreeDimension. FreeDimension enables users to quickly and intuitively create and stylize 3D models using curve manipulation as in sketching. Initially targeted for concept design market, the underlying technology is ideal for creating challenging 3D models including organic shapes. The product uses patent-pending N-Sided-Surfacing, a new generation of 3D surface modeling that enables fast, flexible 3D shape modeling without the hassle and grind created by NURBS and Bezier-based systems.

FreeDimension is affordable, easy-to-use and once tried, designers will never want to move away from it!

FreeDesign Inc is located in Longmont, CO, and free trials of FreeDimension can be downloaded at: freedesign-inc.com.
