Fortress mGard Interlock Range Receives TUV SUD Safety Approval
Only trapped key interlocks to carry this quality certification
Erlanger, Ky.– Fortress’ mGard range of safety interlocks has achieved approval from TUV SUD*, the leading international Notified Body for the certification of safety components. Fortress is the only trapped key manufacturer to carry independent third party approval on its trapped key range of interlocks, for use up to SIL3/PLe.
TUV SUD has certified that the mGard range meets the interlocking requirements of the latest European safety standards. At this time, Fortress is the only trapped key company to carry this product distinction and to be independently certified to ISO 13849 standards.
Trapped key interlocking safeguards machinery or potentially dangerous areas, by ensuring procedures are followed in the proper sequence. The mGard range’s fail-safe design has undergone extensive Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and over100 different, rigorous safety tests. With the independent TUV certification, customers are automatically assured of compliance with interlocking requirements.
Fortress’ mGard range of robust mechanical trapped key products is a completely modular system where individual modules can be added or removed depending on the application, without the complication and expense of wiring.
