Original Press Release:
Orbitform Group introduces Spiralform
Orbital forming offers advantages over other methods of fastening, yet there are occasions where it may not be the optimal solution. It is for these delicate and lighter duty applications that the Orbitform Group has engineered a Spiralform cartridge into its standard product line.
Spiralform displaces material using an eleven-sided spiral pattern similar to those created by the old Spirograph drawing toy. As the forming tool contacts the surface, material uniformly flows out from the center, providing superior strength and surfacing.
A versatile process, Spiralform can be used on:
o Ferrous and non-ferrous metals
o Die cast materials
o Case-hardened fasteners
o Ceramics, glass, and other delicate materials and assemblies.
Spiralform is well suited for many unique applications and is available for:
o New machines and systems
o Retrofit on Orbitform machines (an industry exclusive - making all current and future orbital forming machines essentially dual-purpose and extremely versatile).
Additionally, Spiralform is designed to accommodate an integral load cell into its spindle package, providing the same Watchdawg Process Intelligence(TM) capabilities as the rest of the Orbitform product line.
The Orbitform Group includes Orbitform, Milford, Adtech, Marathon Weld, Arbor Automation, Rollerform, and Watchdawg Process Intelligence.
