Original Press Release:

Complete Line of Electric Three-Wheel Fork Lift Trucks Provide Ultimate Material Handling Solution for Loading

A complete line of Electric Three-wheel Counterbalance Fork Lift Trucks (EFG-DF), that provide excellent maneuverability and performance for storing or retrieving loads, is available from Jungheinrich Lift Truck Corp., Richmond, Va. The EFG-DF truck, designed with a patented steering system and five individually programmed operating modes, is ideally suited for narrow aisles or confined spaces. The trucks are found in a host of industrial and commercial applications, such as: grocery stores and food distribution centers, do-it-yourself home centers and lumber yards, industrial warehouses, manufacturing plants, processing facilities and assembly lines, among others.

The trucks have a Curve Speed Reduction System that operates independently of the selected operating mode and prevents the possibility of "tipping". The truck's internal sensors maintain the amount of centrifugal force exerted on the operator, load and machine at a low level. Sensors "feel" the steering angle and then automatically adjust travel speed or activate the electronic brake to slow the vehicle and safely navigate the turn. The steering assembly has a jointed, cross-shaft axle with an integral steering cylinder and twin rear wheels that provides maximum maneuverability through turns. Vehicle turns are made safe and comfortable on all floor surfaces.

A steering-wheel mounted LCD Information and Service Display (LISA) device allows the driver to choose five individually adjustable operating modes. Operators can adjust acceleration, braking, travel, lifting and lowering speeds to suit the specific task. LISA also displays detailed text for fast and accurate reading of operating conditions and service requirements.

EFG-DF Truck Details

The EFG-DF trucks handle loads from 2,500 up to 4,000 pounds, reach travel speeds of 10 mph with load, lift speeds of 91 ft/min and offer a real alternative to combustion trucks, even when using heavy attachments. A totally enclosed 2-motor front-wheel drive axle, which includes AC motors, gears and multiple disc brakes is completely maintenance-free. Dust and moisture-protected axle and enclosed AC controllers in combination with super-elastic tires allow the truck to be operated indoors as well as outdoors without compromise.

Each EFG model features the exclusive Jungheinrich slim mast design, which places the lift cylinders behind the mast for optimum visibility at all lift heights. Standard EFG vehicles are equipped with a "SOLO-PILOT" control lever that allows the operator to manipulate all hydraulics, travel direction, lifting functions and horn with minimal effort. An optional "MULTI-PILOT" joystick control combines all hydraulic functions plus a travel direction switch into one ergonomically shaped control lever.
