Glacier's 12" GX Rugged Forklift & Fixed-Mount Computer Now Operates on Windows CE
Glacier Computer, a leading developer of versatile and powerful industrial computer systems for harsh environments, announces that its GX-1200(TM) rugged computer is now available with the low cost, low maintenance Windows® CE platform.
Dan Poisson, Vice President of Engineering at Glacier, commented, "Customers have requested the combination of a large 12" color display along with Windows CE. The Windows CE platform resides on a 32 Mb Compact Flash drive and provides a very stable operating system."
Windows® CE runs with minimal DRAM and fits on a 32 MB solid-state drive. Additionally, customers have the option to upgrade the Windows® CE based GX-1200 to Windows® XP at anytime by changing the hard drive.
The GX-1200 has a 12.1" color display, rugged touchscreen, 1.1 GHz Pentium III processor, wireless options and multiple I/O. The GX-1200 is housed in a rugged enclosure and is ideal for applications like forklifts, and fixed-mount warehousing, distribution and factory floor settings. The GX-1200 has a touchscreen, integrated 802.11 B/G wireless, optional Bluetooth, and numerous mounting options.
The GX-1200 CE unit is the latest addition to Glacier's current GX product line, which includes the 10" and 15" versions. Glacier also offers a rugged tablet and laptop for portable challenges as well as sunlight-readable public safety solutions.
