Original Press Release:

New Budget-Price Force Gauge

Since Mecmesin launched two new ranges of high-specification digital force gauges last year, the Basic Force Gauge (BFG) has proved to be particularly popular. By replacing the dot matrix LCD display of the original BFG with a 7-segment numeric display, Mecmesin has been able to introduce a new mid-specification instrument at a very competitive price.

Nevertheless most of the features of the original instrument have been retained. The rigid yet lightweight aluminium housing is ergonomically shaped for hand-held testing applications, and has M5 mounting points for use with Mecmesin manual or motorised test stands. The loadcell sampling rate is 1000Hz, and peak readings in tension or compression can be captured and displayed in a range of SI, metric or imperial units. Data can be uploaded to PCs or data-loggers in RS232 format.

The new BFG, which is available in 6 capacities from 10 newtons to 2.5 kilonewtons, has an accuracy of ±0.25% of full scale and a resolution of 1 part in 5000. All models carry CE marking and are supplied in a robust carrying case with standard accessories and a calibration certificate.

Mecmesin force and torque testing systems are distributed worldwide; throughout the USA and Canada availability is exclusively via Dillon-WeighTronix, of Fairmont, MN, under their 'Quantrol' brandname.
