Concept Smoke Screen, as it is known today, was established in 1991 by Carl Gibbard and Steve Gilmartin, however its history can be traced back about 40 years, when it was responsible for designing, manufacturing and installing the first ever security smoke system in order to protect gold bullion in specialised vaults. Today this dynamic company's main role is to design, manufacture, supply, install and support security smoke systems, a useful tool for anyone at risk from loss. The system is currently installed in many different types of outlet ranging from corner shops to massive, modern distribution centres.

When the Smoke Screen is triggered, a barrier of incredibly dense smoke is created in an instant. The smoke itself is safe, breathable, non-toxic and leaves no residue. Concept Smoke Screen has lots of exciting plans for the future, as it continues to benefit from steady growth and plans to intensify export activity in key overseas markets. Although the idea may have been around for a while in security terms, security smoke is still in its infancy. The future will see Smoke Screen machines become smaller and more powerful, with enhancements in operation and integration that will maintain Concept's position as technology leaders in the security smoke sector.
This vibrant company believes in offering a complete package to its customers ensuring they have full technical support, 35 years ago no-one could see a place for security smoke systems - Concept did. As a result, security smoke is now an accepted part of the anti-burglary, loss-prevention armoury with its own European (and impending International) Standard.
In terms of accreditations, in the security fogging market place, we are unsurpassed:
· ISO 9001:2000 for "The design and manufacture of non-toxic smoke generators for military, security and industrial applications." As a point of interest, we are the only security fogging company in the world that can claim an ISO accreditation that is specific to security.
· Secured By Design: An accreditation awarded by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO).
· Independently tested as demonstrating compliance with BS 7939:1999. The tests were conducted by the Building Research Establishment, one of Europe's most revered testing houses.
· We have in our employ the only BSI accredited UK experts on security fogging systems. We formed the UK representation on the Working Group that drew up EN50131:8, the European standard for security fogging.
· SSAIB accredited. SSAIB are a specialist certification body offering accreditation within the specialist fields of security services, electronic security and fire systems.
· Safecontractor approved. Safecontractor is an accreditation scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of contractors and service providers.
