Type S Disc Flowmeters Provide Reliable Measurement of Many Liquids
Greenwood, South Carolina-January 3, 2003-The Neptune® Type S nutating disc flowmeter measures a wide range of fluid viscosities at ±1% accuracy and is virtually unaffected by flow profile disturbances. This flowmeter stands up to suspended solids, stresses and upsets that cause problems for other meter types. The Type S is rated for pressures to 10.2 bar (150 psi) and temperatures to 121°C (250°F).
The Type S is used for inventory control, mechanical or electronic batching, totalizing and flow monitoring. This flowmeter can be configured with a broad selection of registers, pulsers and totalizers. Direct gear coupling ensures positive calibration. An auto-stop valve option is available for mechanical batching; pulsers and totalizers can be applied for automated control. A magnetic drive model with no stuffing box is available for use with either the PULSMATE(TM) Electronic Register or Series 800 Mechanical Registers.
The bronze-bodied Type S is available with either glass phenolic or Ryton® polymer discs. The fluid serves as its own seal, producing low-torque operation, even at low flow rates, for high accuracy. The disc's larger tolerances are more forgiving of suspended solids and produce a lower pressure loss in high-viscosity applications. The Type S can be ordered in line sizes from 16 to 50 mm (5/8" to 2"), for flow ranges from 7.6 to 605 litres/min (2 to 160 gpm).
