Next Generation Polypropylene Inline Flow Switch: Rugged, Cost-Effective Alternative

PLAINVILLE, CT-Gems Sensors Inc. has developed the new FS-380P Series as an addition to their selection of field-proven brass and stainless steel OEM flow sensors. The molded Polypropylene, inline design is more tolerant of particulate and less susceptible to sticking than other designs. The low cost FS-380P internal design provides low pressure drop and convenient mounting in any attitude.

Operating pressures extend to 200 PSI @ 70°F and 100 PSI @ 212° , and are made of NSF and FDA compliant materials. Fixed set points range from 0.25 GPM to 2.0 GPM and accuracy is within 20% of the set point. Among the hundreds of suitable applications, the FS-380P is well suited for cooling protection on laser, semiconductor equipment, welders, chillers, and for water treatment/chemical distribution systems.

Designers have a choice of port connections: 3/8" MNPT or quick disconnect ports with a broad selection of mating connectors including NPT, BSP, barb and tube connections. The quick disconnect selection also includes John Guest(R) connectors-each available with an integral shutoff valve.

FS-380P housings are molded of Polypropylene, pistons are PPS composite, and other wetted parts include 316 stainless steel and fluorocarbon o-rings. The unit measures less than 5 inches in length and switch action is SPST 10 VA, terminated with 24", 22 AWG wire leads. The FS-380P flow switches carry the UL and CSA Pending approvals. List price is expected to be $70.00/unit, with substantial OEM quantity discounts.
