Flow Meter gages temperature and flow of water/coolant.

Press Release Summary:

CalPoint(TM) electronic vortex shedding flowmeter and temperature transmitter measures temperature and flow rate of water and coolant. Repeatability is ±1% of actual flow and ±0.25% of actual temperature. In chiller applications, unit can verify that flow and temperature from return branches are balanced. With temperature range of 32-210°F, product is offered in pipe sizes from ½-2 in. and measures flow rates from 2.5-200 gpm.

Universal Flow Monitors Introduces Flowmeter and Temperature Transmitter for Water and Coolant

Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. introduces CalPoint(TM), a vortex shedding flowmeter and temperature transmitter for flows of water, water-based machine coolant and water/glycol coolant in industrial processing and manufacturing applications.

The CalPoint(TM) meter helps assure efficient measurement of both flow rate and temperature of water or coolant. Repeatability is +/-1 percent of actual flow and +/-0.25 percent of actual temperature. This high repeatability results in consistent flows and temperature transmission that help provide process control and production quality. In chiller applications, CalPoint(TM) can verify that the flow and temperature from the return branches are balanced.

CalPoint(TM) is a version of the CoolPoint(TM) flowmeter from Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. CalPoint(TM) has the added capability of monitoring temperature readings and transmitting them to a process controller. CalPoint(TM) is designed for flow applications involving heat removal. The meter provides temperature readouts ranging from 32 degrees F to 210 degrees F, which can be expressed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius on the local LED readout.

CalPoint(TM) is easy to specify, install and use. It is an electronic meter that has no moving parts to stick or coat. The meter is sold by pipe size, and all other features are selectable by pushing buttons on the meter face. Selections include a set point for flow and temperature alarm. Wiring is simplified by use of a pin connector optionally sold with the product.

The CalPoint(TM) meter is available in pipe sizes ranging from 3/4 inch to 2 inches, providing flow rates ranging from 2.5 gallons per minute to 200 gallons per minute. Prices range from $850 for the 3/4 inch unit to $1,000 for the 2 inch model. The economical prices represent a $300 add-on to CoolPoint(TM) prices for these sizes to reflect the additional temperature transmission capability.
