New Series Of Flexi-Hinge(TM) Devices From Sterling Instrument Feature Single and Double End Types
New Hyde Park, New York - A new series of Flexi-Hinge(TM) devices from Sterling Instrument (an ISO 9001 manufacturer) offer optimum solutions to many of today's engineering problems including their use in: optical mounts, belt tensioners, linear positioners and sensitive measuring instruments. The design utilizes crossed springs made to exacting tolerances of 400 Series Stainless Steel, capsuled in a cylindrical housing, to provide angular travel up to ±30°. They are frictionless, require no lubrication, can function at limited angular travels indefinitely, are self-centering when unloaded and have extremely low hysteresis. Lubrication migration and brinelling are eliminated. They are stocked in both single and double end designs.
These zero backlash units, identified as the S99FXS- and the S99FXD- Series can operate without maintenance within a wide temperature range, extreme vibration, dust, abrasive slurry, and even in a vacuum. They feature an O.D. ranging from .1250" to 1.000" and lengths of from .200" to 1.600".
