Streamlight® Announces New Model, Improvements to 4AA Propolymer® Flashlights

New 4AA LED Version and Enhanced Original Model Meet Changing Needs of Industrial Professionals

EAGLEVILLE, PA---- Streamlight, Inc., a flashlight manufacturer for industrial applications, introduces a new 4AA LED flashlight and announces improvements to the original 4AA xenon bulb model. Both lights join the ProPolymer(r) family of lights.

According to Streamlight President Brad Penney, the addition and revisions made to the 4AA ProPolymer family of flashlights reflect the changing trends and needs of MRO and safety professionals. "LEDs are the latest in lighting technology, and because of the long-lasting power they provide, the new LED-equipped 4AA ProPolymer light will better meet the diverse lighting needs of industrial users," Penney stated. "Meanwhile, those who prefer traditional xenon bulb-powered flashlights will appreciate the enhanced focus provided by the updated 4AA light, as well as its other improvements."

Both 4AA ProPolymer flashlights provide lasting power. The LED model delivers 84,000 millicandelas of light from a cluster of seven white LEDs, each of which lasts up to 100,000 hours. It can operate for a maximum of 155 hours on one set of batteries. The improved xenon model provides up to 4 continuous hours of illumination at up to 6,500 candlepower.

Another improvement is the consolidation of the on/off switching capabilities to a single location. "While users once were required to press the tailcap for momentary "blink" operation or to rotate the facecap bezel for constant "on" power," Penney explained, "they now have the convenience of switching between the two modes simply by using the tailcap alone."

Many of the features appreciated in the original 4AA ProPolymer remain in the new and improved models. They continue to meet U.S. safety standards, and are approved by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. for use in Class I, Division 1; Class I, II, Division 2; Class III environments. The lights also meet the safety standards of Canadian Underwriters Laboratories for use in Class I, II, Division 2; Class III hazardous locations.

Built of impact resistant polymer, the waterproof flashlights feature a rubber facecap and an unbreakable polycarbonate lens. Powered by four "AA" alkaline batteries (included) the 4AA lights measure 6.5 inches long and weigh 6.3 ounces (with batteries). A convenient wrist lanyard connection is included with the light and a helmet clamp is an optional accessory. Available in yellow, black or olive drab colors, the 4AA LED Model retails for $39.95 and the MSRP for the 4AA xenon model is $31.95.
