Polifan® SGP-Zirkon-Cool Eliminates Overheating When Grinding Stainless

February 14, 2003 - Leominster, MA -- Thermal sensitive materials like stainless steel and other alloys can now be ground non-stop with no discoloring or distortion of the workpiece using this new flap disc from PFERD INC. The POLIFAN® SGP-ZIRKON-COOL features flaps made of a special cooling material which are layered in sequence with regular Zirconia Alumina flaps to effect cool, trouble-free grinding. They eliminate overheating and associated problems like corrosion and blackening. Stainless actually stays stainless and no secondary finishing is required.

The new material, called COOLFLAP®, allows aggressive grinding with no glazing of flaps or deterioration for cutting ability. The POLIFAN® SGP-ZIRKON-COOL also gives long tool life and a perfect finish. High performance grinding work can now be completed faster and with significant cost savings.

Available in 40, 60, and 80 grits, in flat and conical styles and in 4-1/2" and 5" diameters, these innovative flap discs easily handle a wide range of grinding applications from heavy stock removal to fine finishing and everything in between. They are also ideal for grinding weld seams.
