Scott Introduces Innovative Fixed Gas Detection Transmitter

Freedom 6000 universal transmitter provides simplified installation, integration and maintenance

Monroe, NC-Scott Health & Safety, a global leader in innovative personal protective equipment and safety devices, has launched its latest advancement in gas detection.

The Freedom 6000, which supports the detection of toxic and combustible gases, incorporates a universal transmitter into a fixed gas detection system, simplifying maintenance and reducing training costs. The system combines Scott's advanced sensor technology with a modular design to enable simple component replacements and field upgrades.

"The Freedom 6000 universal transmitter is an integral part of Scott's fixed gas detection solutions," said Bryon Gordon, instrument product line manager for Scott Health & Safety. "This innovative transmitter provides users with the ability to more easily and more economically install and maintain a gas detection system that can evolve with a facility's changing needs."

The Freedom 6000 universal transmitter is available with a comprehensive suite of accessories to enable users to customize a solution to meet any application. In addition to Freedom 6000, Scott Health & Safety manufactures a full line of fixed gas detection solutions under the Freedom series to enable customers to find a solution to meet any application or budget requirement.

For example, Freedom Direct detects combustible gases and carbon dioxide using infrared (IR) or catalytic bead sensor technologies. The detector delivers information on gas concentrations directly to a Scott controller without the need for a transmitter, reducing the cost of a point of combustible gas detection by as much as 40 percent. When local display is required, Freedom Direct can be easily upgraded to Freedom 6000 for an efficient, value-oriented detection solution.
