More applications and increased functionality for IP 4000 and GPS 5000 Series Products

TSX VENTURE EXCHANGE: BTW and BTW.WT.R

MONTREAL, QC, March 20 / -- BlueTree Wireless Data Inc., a leading provider of commercial and industrial wireless modems for the rapidly growing worldwide M2M market, announced today the launch of Firmware Release 2.0 that broadens the capabilities of the IP and GPS Series platforms by adding new remote management and event reporting features as well as upgraded sensor connectivity. The combination of these advancements with the strong core technology of BlueTree's wireless modems provides the ideal solution for Fleet Management, Field Service Automation and SCADA applications.

"Following the very successful launch of our new EvDO products only one month ago, it is exciting to come to market with a set of powerful new features and expanded application support," said Karl Hantho, Chief Executive Officer of BlueTree Wireless Data. "Firmware Release 2.0 enhances our entire IP 4000 and GPS 5000 Series product lines with functionality that our customers asked for. At the same time, we are delivering products that offer maximum flexibility when it comes to integrating our devices with their solutions."

Providing the GPS content in both NMEA and TAIP, enabling access to the most complete set of I/Os through standard automotive-style connectors and allowing the message content to be customized are some of the key benefits of Firmware Release 2.0.

"Several months ago the Development Team at BlueTree asked for our input to their Statement of Requirements regarding Fleet Management application enhancements," said Tony Lee, Director Sales & Marketing for Manning NavComp. "BlueTree exceeded our expectations both on their commitment to develop to the specifications and to provide an easy-to-integrate suite of solutions. They also went 'the extra mile' and extended their features to meet specific requirements that we requested. This new Firmware Release deepens Manning NavComp's portfolio of solutions for advanced fleet management applications."

BlueTree application solution providers in Fleet Management (Telematics), Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), Field Service Automation and Process Control & Automation (SCADA) markets can now enjoy the unique features that make these solutions easier to deploy.

Firmware Release 2.0 benefits can be leveraged across the BlueTree portfolio spanning both GPS and non-GPS based platforms and running over GPRS, 1xRTT or EvDO networks throughout North America and can be uploaded "over-the- air" to devices already in the field.

BlueTree's Firmware Release 2.0 Highlights:

o New remote management and event reporting capabilities supported by an intuitive embedded Event Reporting Protocol that automatically formats messages being reported to the remote server, including:
- Excessive Speed Notification
- Different Report Frequency and Content per Destination
- Engine Idling Notification
- On-demand GPS Query

o Sensors can be connected to the I/O port of the modems (4 digital inputs, 3 digital outputs and 3 analog inputs) enabling customers to:
- Remotely trigger outputs
- Monitor the digital input sensors for any change in state
- Send a report to a remote server based on an event trigger, and
- Monitor the analog input for gradient data sources

BlueTree's BlueVue Management Software combines the power of graphical client software with the embedded intelligence inside the modem's firmware for simple installation and configuration. Using a local cable connection or a remote wireless data connection, these modems can be easily monitored and managed.
