LANSDALE, Pa. - Tyco Fire Protection Products, a global leader in water-based fire suppression technology and manufacturer of the RAPID RESPONSE Home Fire Sprinkler System, introduces PATHFINDER Fittings for use in CPVC pipe systems.
PATHFINDER Fittings are designed to help identify improperly cemented joints, also called "dry-fits," during installation by incorporating a grooved channel on the inside of the fitting. This channel allows installers to test systems containing PATHFINDER Fittings using low-pressure air to find dry-fit connections prior to performing the required hydrostatic test. These fittings quickly indicate lack of a cemented joint by audibly leaking air. The rate of pressure decay is instantly noticeable by observing a calibrated pressure gauge and listening for air escaping through the dry-fit fitting.
PATHFINDER Fittings are UL Listed and FM Approved for use in all residential occupancies, as defined per NFPA 13R and 13D, and for light hazard occupancies, as defined per NFPA 13. The product line includes elbows, tees, crosses, couplings, sprinkler head adapters, reducing tees, reducing bushings, and related adapters.
