Fire Detectors offer application-specific technology.

Press Release Summary:

Suited for small- to medium-size installations, FireSmart(TM) Application Specific Detectors employ software algorithms and neural network to sense smoke and heat. To eliminate false alarms, detectors are adjustable for optimum response in 11 environments, such as healthcare facilities, office/retail environment, dormitory or hotel room, HVAC duct, and warehouses. Units ignore cigarette smoke, dust, and car exhaust and offer early warning to true threat of fire.

Faraday Introduces New FireSmart(TM) Application Specific Detector for Small to Medium Sized Installations

This new detector offers maximum stability and speed, with a
Guarantee of no false alarms.

Faraday's new FireSmart(TM) ASD application specific fire detectors represent the first offering of cutting-edge ASD technology to the small- to medium-sized market. They were developed to meet customer requirements for applications such as schools, healthcare facilities, strip malls, motels and moderate sized office buildings, offering large-system capabilities at small-system cost.

Application specific detectors are designed to eliminate deceptive phenomena in specific environments. They employ advanced software algorithms and a neural network to sense both smoke and heat.

To eliminate the chance of false alarms, FireSmart detectors are adjustable for optimum response in a choice of eleven different environments, such as healthcare facilities, office/retail environment, dormitory or hotel room, HVAC duct, and warehouses. Built-in algorithms allow the detectors to ignore unwanted phenomena like cigarette smoke, dust and car exhaust, depending on the detector's current environmental setting.

As a result, the detectors can offer earliest possible warning to a true threat of fire, because no time delay for alarm verification is required. The FireSmart ASD is so stable that the manufacturer offers a guarantee of no false alarms.

The FireSmart ASD line is offered in concert with Faraday's new line of MPC-6000 and MPC-7000 intelligent fire alarm panels. Designed for small to medium sized installations, these new panels offer features usually associated with larger systems, including more than 500 programmable points on a single loop, polarity insensitive operation on standard wire, and networking capabilities.
