Downsized Corrosion Protection System Finishes Castings And Powdered Metal Parts Fast, Easy And Cost Effectively
Eden Prairie, Minnesota: A downsized version of the TRU TEMP® part finishing system from Birchwood Casey enables manufacturers with small quantity needs to use the process quickly and cost effectively without a large capital expenditure.
An all new finishing technology to meet today's manufacturing needs, the patented TRU TEMP black process provides high corrosion protection to most castings and powdered metal parts. The black finish is Mil Spec compliant and can withstand 100 to 300 salt spray exposure. Best of all, there are no EPA regulated metals to deal with. All rinsewaters are sewerable as non-hazardous effluent.
Supplied as a complete turnkey system, components in the BK-TT Mini line include: seven tanks and covers, 2 hot plates (for heated cleaner and black oxide), and all chemicals needed to operate 5 gallon black oxide line (1 gallon Safe Scrub cleaning concentrate, 1 gallon Oxy Prime surface conditioner, 2 gallons TRU TEMP black oxide concentrate, 5 gallons Dri Touch sealant).
Utilizing simple, two-step chemistry (patented), the TRU TEMP process takes just 10 to 15 minutes producing a true black magnetite finish of .000020" thickness, with an attractive satin black appearance, equal to that of regular black oxide. The TRU TEMP 190°F black oxide process is an ideal substitute for dangerous hot oxides that normally operate at 290°F.
Results from start to finish occur in less than 10 minutes. No waiting for hours for in-house tanks to heat up, or for days to be finished by an outside black oxide supplier. The entire system, including containers, heaters and chemicals can be purchased for just $588.00.
