Filter Media operate up to 700°F.

Press Release Summary:

Fiberglass filters/filter bags for self-contained dust collector vessels can replace sintered metal and ceramic dust filters, and eliminate need for upstream pre-treatment equipment and systems. Filter media capture dust and fine particulates that are typically by-products of processing/production applications associated with chemical, petrochemical, hydrocarbon, pharmaceutical, food, and other manufacturing technologies.

High Temperature Dust Collector Filter Media Operate Up to 700°F (371°C)

New fiberglass dust collector filters/filter bags offer substantially lower costs than sintered metal/ceramic filter media; permit elimination of upstream "pre-treatment" equipment and systems

New fiberglass filter media and filter bags for self-contained dust collector vessels operating at high exhaust gas temperatures in the 700°F (371°C) region have been introduced by Flex-Kleen Division of Met-Pro Corp., Itasca, IL. The filter media are suitable for use with many industrial/commercial processes generating dust and other fine particulates that are not permitted to be dispersed into the atmosphere, and/or must be recovered because of process contamination or reclaim value. Performance characteristics of the new filter media permit their use as direct replacements for traditional sintered metal and ceramic dust filters generally costing about two-thirds more. The new fiberglass filter media - when employed in standalone dust collector vessels - capture dust and fine particulates that are typically by-products of processing/production applications associated with chemical, petrochemical, hydrocarbon, pharmaceutical, food, and other manufacturing technologies.

Sintered metal and ceramic dust filters are generally used where dust and fine particulates are suspended in hot gases as part of a normal process flow. Flex-Kleen's new fiberglass filter media provides performance equal to - or better than - these other materials at substantially less cost. Another key advantage concerns the elimination of expensive upstream "pre-treatment" equipment and systems such as coolers, quenchers, sprayers, and chillers (typically used to cool dust-laden gases prior to reaching the filter media). Generally this equipment is not needed with high temperature filter media; its elimination could result in cost savings in the thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars a year.
