Monoblock Filler/Capper with Integrated Net Weigh System Offers High Precision Filling



ESS Technologies, Inc. integrates net weigh capability with its Monoblock Filler/Capper to create a very precise filling system for bottles, micro-tubes, vials, and syringes. Integrated scales measure and record the weight of the container prior to and again after filling to verify exact fill amounts with an accuracy of ±2mg. The Monoblock Filler/Capper with integrated net weigh system will handle rates up to 70 containers per minute. A large, full color touch screen provides an operator interface to adjust the servo controls for the diving nozzles as well as the pump fill rates.

The net weigh system performs as follows: Bottles, micro-tubes, vials, or syringes enter the Monoblock starwheel from the container infeed. The empty container is weighed, and the data is recorded by the embedded controls. A servo-controlled filling pump provides accurate dispensing, and the container is weighed again after being filled. The system records and compares both weights and measures the difference in weights against pre-programmed values that are specific to the application. Containers with incorrect fill weights are automatically rejected while correct containers are capped or closed and allowed to exit the Monoblock for further processing downstream. Feedback controls on the system may be configured to automatically adjust the filling nozzles to maintain precise filling volume.

Constructed to meet cGMP standards, the Monoblock's stainless steel exterior and hard-anodized aluminum inner frame offer easy cleaning. Standard machine guarding is constructed of aluminum profile with Lexan panels to ensure safe operating conditions. The Monoblock may be specified to include a number of infeed options to handle containers of most any shape. The system may also be ordered with a robotic discharge cell capable of loading integrated labeler infeed conveyors or trays.
