Fiber Optic Test Facility Portable to Simulate Field Applications
A new, portable single-spool fiber optic test facility for designers, developers, manufactures, and exhibitors of fiber optic products and systems is being introduced by M2 Optics, Inc. of San Marcos, California.
The M2 Fiber Lab 800(TM) is a fiber management package which houses a single spool of up to approx. 8 dB (@1310nm) or 25 km of single mode fiber with both ends terminated on the front panel with various optional connectors and panel mount adapters. Suitable for testing and demonstrating fiber optic products
and systems, this portable unit exactly simulates field applications.
Featuring a clear Lexan® case with a built-in handle, the M2 Fiber Lab 800(TM) is a tabletop unit that can also be rack mounted using an optional tray. It is available with 10-, 15-, or 25 km of fiber or in user-specified attenuations at 1310 nm or 1550 nm, with standard SMF-28 fiber or other single- or multimode fiber types, as requested, or shipped without a spool.
