Reed Switch Developments Announces Introduction of World's Smallest Ferrous Metal Sensing Switch

Racine, Wisconsin: Reed Switch Developments Corp. today at the Sensor's Expo announced the introduction of FerroSense(TM), the world's smallest line of ferrous metal sensing switches.

"This revolutionary new packaged switch utilizes the Magnasphere(TM) technology, making it possible for it at 0.263" in diameter by 0.324" in length to be significantly smaller than any other ferrous metal sensing switch," said Rick Berns, Reed Switch Developments, Corp. Vice President of Sales and New Product Development. "This new product shows our commitment to leading the industry with innovative solutions that make life easier."

This switch also provides a major cost improvement for many manufacturers, not only because of its size, but also because it doesn't require the usage of a separate magnet, additional filtering components, or a power source to operate.

"We see this as the ideal solution for many applications where size and cost play a major role in the design of the application," said Berns. "We are looking forward to working with companies in many different industries to provide both off-the-shelf and custom solutions using the FerroSense(TM) line of switches."
