Press Release Summary:
PosiFlowO, suitable for EH and EZ Series pumps, detects flow of liquid output by pump, which verifies metering pump is moving liquid and has not lost prime. It does not incorporate any moving parts, and offers preserved flow path to eliminate plugging or jamming. Output signal stops if pump loses prime, is in dead-head condition, or if pump loses pressure due to broken discharge line. Input device can be configured to interpret signals.
Original Press Release:
PosiFlowO FEED VERIFICATION SENSOR
May, 2002 - WALCHEM CORPORATION, Holliston, MA, introduces the PosiFlowO Feed Verification Sensor.
How do you know the pump is really pumping? Designed for Walchem's EH and EZ Series pumps, the PosiFlowO Sensor detects the flow of liquid output by the pump, which verifies the metering pump is moving liquid and has not lost prime. The PosiFlowO accomplishes this with no moving parts. The standard flow path of the pump is preserved so the liquid does not go through gears or move a magnet to actuate a pulse in the sensor. This eliminates plugging or jamming concerns.
The PosiFlowO sends out a signal with every stroke as long as there is liquid flow. The PosiFlowO output signal will stop if the pump loses prime, is in a dead-head condition, or if the pump loses pressure due to a broken discharge line. An input device can be configured to interpret the signal in any way imaginable - totalization, no-flow alarms, drum re-fill notification, etc. Many of these features are currently available with the Walchem WebMaster®.
