Original Press Release:
New Versions of Red Wing's Financial Management Software, AgCHEK(TM) & Perception Accounting, Broaden Capablitlies with Timesaving Features and Increased Flexibility
Red Wing, MN, March 24, 2003 - Red Wing Software, the nation's leading developer of agricultural accounting software, has released AgCHEK 2003 and Perception Accounting 2003, both new versions of already established software.
"AgCHEK 2003 and Perception 2003 are the most exciting releases of the Red Wing products to date," according to Mark Machtemes, Vice President of Sales. "With new enhanced features, Ag producers will have the most comprehensive Ag-specific software packages available anywhere."
The new releases allow users to completely track their financial situation and also gives them access to the most complete analysis tools in the ag market.
Perception 2003 includes a new Database Wizard that provides setup for virtually any kind of farm or ranch. The Wizard allows creation of a Chart of Accounts with customized account names and beginning balances. After completion, transaction entry may begin immediately. Partial database setup is stored to enable a user to start, leave and come back to the Wizard when convenient.
Perception 2003 also features a tool that will ensure tax reports are complete. The tool also checks for missing accounts and prompts a review of unassigned accounts.
Data entry is made easier in Perception 2003 with the new Empty button. When needed, it cleans out remaining inventory amounts. New credit categories resolve special reporting needs for government reports and provide an easier way to handle Credit Line accounts.
"Our Windows-based farm accounting software is a key component of our 'systems approach' to more profitable farm management," said Ken Hilton, President at Red Wing Software. "Users are always looking for time-saving features in a program, and we have incorporated new options in both programs that do just that."
A key enhancement in AgCHEK 2003 is an option that will allow users to mark unused or inactive accounts, vendors, customers and employees when needed. During transaction entry, only active accounts, vendors, customers, and employees will appear.
Other new features include the ability to edit a transaction without having to exit the Check Reconciliation screen. This allows the user to edit a transaction on the fly.
A new Crop and Livestock Module option is available that allows the user to select groups or plantings where they may want to allocate indirect expenses. This option allows for select on or de-selection of groups or plantings during transaction entry. The system will reallocate the total amount to the selected plantings or groups by Acres and/or Head.
