Axiomtek Introduces a Quad-Core Fanless Embedded System with 6 COM Ports and Wide Range Power Input -- eBOX638-840-FL

Axiomtek, one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of innovative, high performance and reliable PC-based industrial computer products, has launched the eBOX638-840-FL, a fanless embedded box PC with two expansion slots and small footprint. The highly expandable embedded system supports the quad-core Intel® Celeron® processor J1900 2.0GHz onboard (codenamed Bay Trail-D) with outstanding computing performance and extremely low power consumption no higher than 10 watt. In addition, the integrated Intel® HD Graphics engine also significantly advances the graphics performance. The versatile and rugged embedded system comes with one DDR3L SO-DIMM system memory maximum up to 8 GB, and one full-size internal PCI Express Mini Card slot and two SMA type of antenna openings to connect wireless through 3G or LTE. Depending on its system scalability and advanced technologies, the fanless and noiseless eBOX638-840-FL realizes the potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) and is well suited for applications such as passenger information system, in-vehicle PCs, entry-level gaming, video surveillance, and other automation applications.

“The brand-new intelligent eBOX638-840-FL can dynamically increase the processor's frequency to accommodate a burst of speed when users need it, and increased energy efficiency when users don’t. With IP30-rated rugged aluminum steel enclosure and unique thermal solution, the superior eBOX638-840-FL can operate in temperature ranging from -10°C to +55°C and wide voltage from 16VDC to 28VDC. The Axiomtek’s eBOX638-840-FL provides a cost effective yet reliable option for plant automation management in any harsh environment,” said Vincent Ji, product manager of Product Marketing Division at Axiomtek. “Furthermore, two PCI interfaces enable users to insert PCI expansion cards according to their mission-critical application requirements.”

With ample I/O interfaces for communication and control purpose, the eBOX638-840-FL supports six RS-232 ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, one internal USB 3.0, VGA, HDMI, and audio (mic-in/line-out). One 2.5" SATA HDD drive bay and mSATA slot are embedded in eBOX638-840-FL to maintain sufficient storage. Embedded OS support is fully deployed under WES7, WE8S, and Linux.

Axiomtek’s eBOX638-840-FL is going to be available in early March, 2015. For more industrial PC or embedded product information or pricing, please visit us at  or contact one of our sales representatives at
