Fairbanks Scales Live on IFS Metrix Service Management

ITASCA, ILL. – FS, the global enterprise applications company, announces that Fairbanks Scales, a leading manufacturer and servicer of industrial weighing equipment, is now live on IFS Metrix Service Management software after an implementation that was under budget and ahead of schedule.

Founded in 1830, and headquartered in Kansas City, Mo., Fairbanks Scales has become a leader in the industrial weighing market by creating and manufacturing an unrivaled range of weighing equipment solutions. It has extensive factory-direct sales and service organization, and more than 60 U.S. and Canadian factory authorized distributors.

Fairbanks Scales is now running IFS Metrix Service Management, encompassing service functions ranging from work orders, service inventories, contract management and mobility. This software functionality will be used to manage the full spectrum of field service work, from construction and installation for new equipment to calibration, maintenance and upgrade of equipment in the field.

The company maintains an extensive service network of more than 300 service personnel equipped with the latest diagnostic and repair tools, and has authorized distributors and sales offices in 49 states and more than 25 countries. Fairbanks Scales sells everything from precision and bench scales to heavy capacity truck scales and railroad track scales, and it continues to stand at the leading edge of weighing technology.

“Our service teams handle a diversity of tasks, ranging from equipment installation to regularly-scheduled service to emergent repairs,” Fairbanks Scales Vice President of Service Operations Bruce Breeden said. “Services must be delivered within tight time frames either because of contractual service level agreements (SLAs) or because of our internal SLAs designed to ensure each and every customer is well-served. The best practices that are automated by IFS Metrix Service Management and the real-time communication delivered by IFS Mobile are now helping us take our customer service to the next level.”

“Manufacturers that service what they sell, like Fairbanks Scales, are a very good fit for IFS,” IFS North America Senior Vice President Larry Laux said. “In this case, we are integrating with an existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) system at Fairbanks Scales, and we will always be an excellent choice for this kind of best-of-breed implementation.”
