ARCHIBUS/FM® Version 16.2 Delivers Tighter AutoCAD® Integration, Greater Ease of Use, Multiple Language Translations

AutoCAD 2007 Fully Supported

BOSTON, Massachusetts, USA October 20, 2006 -- ARCHIBUS, Inc., the #1 provider of comprehensive infrastructure and facilities management solutions worldwide, announces the latest release of its comprehensive software solution, ARCHIBUS/FM Version 16.2.
Version 16.2 provides tighter AutoCAD® integration, greater ease of use features, and is now available in French, Spanish, and German editions.

"At a time when information integration is central to improved productivity and competitiveness, Version 16.2 links architectural drawings with room information in the most comprehensive and accessible way possible," says ARCHIBUS/FM president and founder, Bruce K. Forbes. "That gives users multi-dimensional views of their facilities for greater ROI on those assets."

ARCHIBUS/FM Version 16.2 has also been translated into French, German and Spanish language editions in a continuing effort to localize the latest release of the software solution for worldwide markets. ARCHIBUS/FM is currently available in over two dozen languages.

Tighter AutoCAD Integration

New Version 16.2 features include:

o ARCHIBUS/FM Editor for AutoCAD 2007. The Editor for AutoCAD 2007 reads and writes native AutoCAD 2007 DWG files directly, so users can build directly on work from their architects or drafting staff, and vice versa.

o Click to Zoom. No matter the scale of the drawing or asset library, clicking on assets in ARCHIBUS/FM results in the enterprise database automatically locating the right drawing and zooming into the relevant area of the plan for the current selection.

o Save as Drawing View in DWG Viewer. ARCHIBUS/FM 16.2 provides the optional DWG ARCHIBUS/FM Viewer for AutoCAD 2007, an updated component that reads native DWG files from AutoCAD and ADT and intrinsically meshes their contents with data from the enterprise information model.

o Dimensioning. The ARCHIBUS/FM Editor for AutoCAD 2007 includes support for 2D dimensioning.

o External References. The ARCHIBUS/FM Editor for AutoCAD 2007 and the ARCHIBUS/FM Viewer for AutoCAD 2007 provide support for external references in the V.16 platform.

o DWG Editor: Drawing Limits command. Version 16.2 includes the AutoCAD Drawing Limits command.

o Overlay: Widowed Assets command. Version 16.2 highlights doubly-linked assets.

o ARCHIBUS/FM Reports. It is now possible to prefix image file names in the database with a folder path which is read and appended to the "Project Image Files Folder=" path in the Projects Preferences file as the starting location for searching for the image file.

o AutoCAD DWF Viewer 2007 Support in ARCHIBUS/FM Web Central. ARCHIBUS/FM Web Central supports both DWF Viewer 6.5 and DWF Viewer 2007, which resolves the issue with the Microsoft Security Update KB912945 on Windows XP SP2 or Windows 2003.

Greater Ease of Use

In addition to the language updates, the ARCHIBUS/FM V.16.2 infrastructure and facilities management solution also features enhanced performance and more user-friendly features including:

o Integrated, Web-accessible Documentation. All ARCHIBUS/FM documentation is now online, organized in a single table-of-contents, and searchable from a single dialog.

o New "Learning Path". The Learning Path is now role-based and integrated directly into the Help system so users can identify those sections of the documentation that are relevant to a particular job for faster starts and reduced training time.

o New "Getting Results" Section. Within each domain, the documentation now lists the distinct business activities that sites often choose to automate as well as the prerequisites, results, and organizational titles with a stake in the results. The associated Process Navigator documentation discusses which tools -- Web, Windows, or CAD - are needed to achieve those goals and presents instructions on how to do so.

o Process Navigators. In this version, a full set of Process Navigators have replaced the Process Toolbars. They obey role and task security, among other functions, so that staff members see only the processes and tasks relevant to their role.

o Activity-based Deployment. With activity-based deployment, users can more easily gain clear definition and consensus on the automation priorities of highest value in the organization, and quickly detail responsibilities, identify resources, and set specific timeframes for achieving organizations' goals. Even a broad range of automation goals can be achieved activity-by-activity, step-by-step, with each new function building on the data, skills, and success of the previous deployment.

o Microsoft SQL Server Express Support. This version includes support for SQL Server Express, a no-fee database server software that is included on the CD. SQL Server Express is a version of the full Microsoft SQL Server product appropriate for small workgroups.

Multiple Language Support

The release of French, Spanish, and German language editions of ARCHIBUS/FM V.16.2 - in addition to V16.1 releases in Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean -- underscore the solution's international scope and growing popularity.

"The latest V.16 language editions continue ARCHIBUS Inc.'s focus on being a global, multi-lingual solution provider to secure and broaden ARCHIBUS/FM's worldwide reputation and appeal," said ARCHBUS, Inc. President and CEO and President, Bruce K. Forbes.
