Fabric provides electrical explosion protection.

Press Release Summary:

HOT-STOP® blankets and tapes utilize continuous filament glass fiber with heat- and explosion-resistance to protect workers and equipment in confined spaces from hazards posed by energized circuits. Non-asbestos fiber has high temperature and abrasion resistance, produces no burning or gaseous emissions, and is not affected by water or stringent chemicals. Blankets are offered in 30 in. widths by 10 and 20 ft lengths. Tapes are 3 in. wide at 10 and 20 ft lengths.

New Fabric a Breakthrough in Electrical Explosion Protection

New HOT-STOP® line of blankets and tapes utilize a revolutionary continuous filament glass fiber with excellent heat- and explosion-resistance to protect workers and equipment in confined spaces from hazards posed by energized circuits.

The non-asbestos fiber has high temperature and abrasion resistance, produces no burning or gaseous emissions, and is not affected by water or stringent chemicals. It has undergone extensive testing at independent testing facilities, and is now available in three forms:

o HOT-STOP® Arc Deflection Blankets which are designed to contain the elements of an electrical explosion, extreme heat, flying material, and explosive forces.
o HOT-STOP® Fireproof Blankets which can be wrapped around conductors and other equipment for protection against intense heat.
o HOT-STOP® Fireproof Tape which can be wrapped around conductors to reduce the effect of an electrical failure.

Typical uses for the HOT-SPOT® products are situations where service load conditions, and the lack of feasible alternatives, prevent cables from being de-energized during service. The blankets are offered in 30" widths by 10' and 20' lengths. The tapes are 3" wide at 10' and 20' lengths.
