Wireless LAN is now a de facto feature in laptops and smartphones, but is still almost unknown in embedded applications, where its potential for remote machine monitoring is immense. That's largely due to the complexity of implementing the drivers, networking stack and programming interface needed for 802.11 wireless networking. The technology is daunting for embedded designers and most machines simply don't have the processing power or operating system to make it possible.
Today that has changed, with the introduction of EZURiO's new embedded 802.11 modules that make it easy for anyone to develop connected products.

According to analysts Harbor Research, the M2M market is about to explode. In a survey performed in September 2007, 60% of companies surveyed claimed that they intend to embed network capabilities into half or more of their products within the next three years.
