Haws Further Expands Its Presence in Highly Portable Emergency Equipment
Sparks, NV, September 3, 2003 - The Haws Corporation today launched another superior new product aimed at the growing need for lightweight, portable emergency equipment. The company's new Model 7500EB.12V Portable Eyewash delivers all of the traditional Haws security features in a small, lightweight, portable and very flexible design.
Ray Doane, Haws Vice President of Sales and Marketing, made the announcement saying, "There is a rapidly growing need for emergency equipment to serve in less than ideal conditions. We've addressed some of that need with our portable showers and eyewashes, and the new Model 7500EB.12V is another important piece in the overall plan."
The Model 7500EB.12V specifically addresses high quality eyewash needs in remote, cold climates. It features a gravity-fed design, with a fold-down eyewash arm that activates flow automatically. Flushing water is heated via a 12V connection to a car or truck battery. Additionally, the Model 7500EB.12V is supplied with a double insulated jacket to minimize heat loss.
"Unpowered eyewash tanks will typically lose 1 ° to 3 °F (1/2 ° - 1.7 °C) per hour, depending on wind velocity, when the air temperature is 0 °F (-18 °C). That means there is an urgent need for tempering water used in cold locations. If not, the flushing itself could cause further damage to the eyes," said Casey Hayes, Haws Engineering Manager. "If you're in a remote location, where all you have to work with is the power from your vehicles, you need an eyewash that can perform. The Haws Model 7500EB.12V was designed specifically for that purpose. Accidents don't always occur in the most convenient locations," he concluded.
