The MarkNet N7000 series is the first in its class to feature an LCD operator panel, which allows customers to easily change settings on the device itself. The MarkNet N7000 series also offers a simple, fast installation utility so customers can save money by setting up the devices without involving a network administrator.

For customers with security concerns, the MarkNet N7000 series offers best in class security features, including 802.1x authentication, secure remote management and secure printing using IPP1.1. The N7000 series are also the only external print servers in the world to offer IPSec support, an industry- standard method of encrypting all data coming from the host to the printer to help prevent unauthorized access to digital information.

"Lexmark's MarkNet N7000 series of external print servers gives customers a winning combination of ease of use, flexibility and security to help them use their devices more productively," said Paul Rooke, Lexmark executive vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division.

The Lexmark MarkNet N7020e allows customers to connect up to four different devices through USB ports at gigabit Ethernet speed. It is the first external print server in its class to offer printing and device configuration directly from a USB flash memory device and has an estimated street price of $349.

For customers in smaller environments, the Lexmark MarkNet N7000e offers a single USB port, and the Lexmark MarkNet N7002e provides a single parallel port connection. Both provide fast Ethernet speed and offer legacy protocol support for devices that work on older operating systems and have an estimated street price of $249.
