Larson Electronics Releases Class 1 Division 2 Low Voltage Explosion Proof LED Light

Larson Electronics has announced the release of the HAL-31L-LV Class 1 Division 2 Low Voltage LED Light designed for locations where flammable gases and vapors may be present under abnormal conditions. Featuring low voltage operation, high output, and a compact size, this explosion proof LED light is ideal for operators who need powerful illumination that can be operated from 12 or 24 volt DC power sources.

The HAL-31L-LV Class 1 Division 2 low voltage LED light provides high output illumination in a compact yet rugged explosion proof approved design. Rated IP66 rated waterproof and constructed of machined aluminum with an unbreakable polycarbonate lens, this LED light is extremely durable and resistant to the effects of water and dampness. The small size and aluminum construction makes this unit light weight and ideal for installation in areas where space is limited. Larson Electronics also offers a choice of beam configurations including a wide angle 100 degree beam for illuminating large areas and a 30 degree spot beam to produce a long reaching flood of light. These LED lights use only 31 watts with a 2.64 amp draw on a 12 volt circuit yet produce 2,416 lumens, making them an excellent alternative to less durable and heavier HID lamps that doesn’t sacrifice power for versatility. The heavy duty aluminum housing is mounted via an included aluminum mounting bracket that allows mounting to flat surfaces while providing vertical adjustability once installed. Power is supplied to the light through an included 6 feet of two wire connecting lead which provides simple connections and ample length. This light is class 1 Division 2 Groups A, B, C, and D approved, carries UL 1598 certification, and has a T3 temperature rating. The LEDs in this unit utilize Cree X-Lamp XR-E emitters to provide high reliability and 90 lumens per watt output with 70% lumen retention at 50,000 hours of operation. This light is ideal for operators who wish to upgrade from less durable and shorter lived HID fixtures and offer the ability to run on 12 or 24 volt DC current supplied from transformers, vehicles electrical systems, batteries, and portable power sources.

“For low voltage applications, the ultra-rugged, machined aluminum HAL-31L-LV Class 1 Division 2 LED light has no match,” said Rob Bresnahan with LarsonElectronics.com. “There a lot of original equipment manufacturers working on mobile applications for the oilfield and this 31 watt LED light’s seven inch outer diameter and 3 inch depth are just the right size these mobile trailer configurations.   They have a low amp draw, high vibration resistance and a small form factor, which makes them ideal for hazardous location area LED lighting applications.”
