Lapeyre Stair will be showcasing its Alternating Tread and Industrial Stairs at this year's American Society of Safety Engineers Exposition, June 11-13, 2006 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center.
The stair for which Lapeyre Stair is known is its Alternating Tread Stair, which was patented by J.M. Lapeyre in 1979 and introduced to the marketplace in 1981. In areas where access to mezzanines, loading docks, rooftops, and large machinery is necessary, this stair is safer and easier to use than vertical or ship's ladders. Its small footprint makes it ideal for areas in which floor space is limited.
The Stair's unique alternating tread design allows for safe, face-forward descent at a steep angle while enabling the user to carry items down the stair without compromising personal safety. Its close fitting handrails provide support - and the cushioned central stringer virtually eliminates the chance of hitting the nosing of a tread. The Alternating Tread Stair meets OSHA requirements in addition to a variety of other regulations and codes.
Lapeyre Stair has expanded its product line beyond the Alternating Tread Stair with the addition of the Industrial Stair. Along with its close cousin, the Commercial Stair, this solution greatly simplifies projects that involve a stair purchase and installation. It can be specified to meet a variety of Industrial codes and regulations, including OSHA and IBC - simply specify the applicable regulations and within weeks a reasonably-priced, high quality stair arrives, ready to install.
