Colson Caster Launches Industry's First Single Assembly Expanding Adapter
Preassembly and Secure Fit Define New Adapter
Jonesboro, Arkansas, March 31, 2009 - Colson Caster Corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of standard and custom application caster and wheel products, announced today that it is shipping a new single-assembly expanding adapter to replace its previous 4-piece model. The Colson Single Assembly Integrated Expanding Adapter's new format incorporates three interlocking pieces into one solid configuration for ease of installation and enhanced fit and performance.
"Our customers expressed issues with struggling to mesh and align four loose pieces to a caster. This new adapter beautifully addresses their concern and is shipped already preassembled," said Charles Harris, engineering manager at Colson. "The only thing left to do is simply tighten a single nut to secure the new unit."
The expanding adapter is crafted with a durable glass-filled nylon knurled nut and flange bushing and a rubber expansion tube which fit over the stem of the caster. When the single-piece adapter unit is placed over the stem and the nut is tightened, the unit expands to ensure a tight and secure fit for all critical applications such as healthcare and manufacturing material handling. The new expanding adapter is made with completely corrosion-free materials and is available for use on all Colson 1 and 2 Series caster models and a full assortment of Colson wheels. Selected models of the new adapters are shipping now with others becoming available throughout the year.
