Norplex-Micarta's New NP510UD Offers Maximum Flexural Strength

POSTVILLE, IA - Norplex-Micarta announces the NP510UD, an epoxy glass thermoset composite material that provides maximum flexural strength in one direction. This material is ideal for vibratory springs in papermaking machines and conveyors, leaf springs, and other applications that require extra flexing and long life.

NP510UD combines unidirectional glass fabric with an epoxy resin system that features a Tg (glass transion temperature) of approximately 130°C. This product is engineered to provide three times the flexural strength in the machine direction (103,000 psi) as in the cross direction (30,000 psi). Additionally, it features long life under continuous flexing conditions. NP510UD has a tensile strength of 56,000 psi in the machine direction and a compressive strength of 42,000 psi in the direction perpendicular to the laminations.
