Eos Systems Releases PhotoModeler 6 Beta
Test version features new automatic 3D Export to Google Earth
Vancouver, BC August 14, 2006- Eos Systems(TM), maker of the award-winning PhotoModeler® software, today announced the Beta release of PhotoModeler 6, the most advanced version to date of the world's best close-range photogrammetry solution. The company is distributing the Beta preview to current customers in advance of the official version 6 release later this year.
PhotoModeler software, the most accurate, flexible, and affordable means of generating 3D CAD models of real-world objects, makes several technical leaps forward in its newest incarnation. PhotoModeler 6 offers an extensive set of refinements and completely new features, including the Shapes feature- for fast reconstruction from photos of buildings and industrial parts based on simple geometries of cubes and pyramids, etc.; Imports -- allowing two-way data transfer to and from popular CAD and 3D graphics tools; a revamped paned user interface; as well as background 3D processing and an automated camera database.
Among the many expanded capabilities, the feature garnishing the most attention is the software's Google Earth Export, which places user's photograph-generated 3D models into the environment of Google's dynamic, worldwide aerial photograph browser.

Eos Systems is limiting availability of the first beta version to existing PhotoModeler 5 users, in order to get feedback on the new features from experienced users. During the sixty-day beta-testing period, new users may purchase PhotoModeler 5 and receive the beta version and the full upgrade to version 6 for no extra charge.
