New Version of Environmental Compliance Solution Supports IPC-1752 for RoHS

SPRING HOUSE, Pa., Feb. 15 - Synapsis Technology, Inc., a provider of environmental compliance and product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, today announced the next release, version 2.5, of its patent- pending Environmental Material Aggregation and Reporting System (EMARS(TM)), which completely supports the IPC-1752 Material Declarations standard for the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive.

"The IPC-1752 materials directive is a critical industry standard to help control the data formats and forms involved in complying with RoHS," said German Avila, Synapsis' product manager for environmental products. "Thoroughly understanding IPC-1752 is extremely important for OEMs and suppliers trying to streamline their processes and reduce the cost and burden of exchanging data related to RoHS. Our new version of EMARS has been designed to support IPC-1752 and ease the pain of gathering, organizing and storing the mass amounts of data involved in compliance."

RoHS is affecting every aspect of the supply chain of electrical and electronics manufacturers. It is critical for these organizations to be able to ensure and demonstrate compliance with this environmental regulation. EMARS is an off-the-shelf solution that offers a complete set of functionality to analyze and track compliance at the substance, material, part and product level as well as efficiently manage the data collection and reporting process. Synapsis' EMARS 2.5 fully supports the IPC-1752 Class 1 through Class 6 forms, providing the ability to generate IPC-1752 requests and reports and validating and loading IPC-1752 reports.

EMARS enables companies to meet various industry regulations and sets the framework for staying ahead of the growing and constantly changing environmental requirements. The deployment of EMARS at electronics and high- tech companies maximizes the visibility of compliance information to all stages of the product lifecycle and thus minimizes the risk and cost associated with non-compliance.

Mr. Avila will be conducting the training for the IPC's "Ensuring RoHS Compliance Through Materials Declaration Tools: Implementing IPC-1752" events on February 28 in Costa Mesa, Calif. and March 16 in Dallas, Texas, as well as at the IPC/JEDEC International Conference on Lead Free Electronic Components and Assemblies being held March 7-9 in Santa Clara, Calif. His presentation will be from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on March 7.
