Enhanced Cash Processing Security through DVR Central Monitoring Function

Dec.13, 2007

Taipei, Taiwan - Recording speed 480 FPS for 16 channels, powerful storage capacity, hot swappable SATA HDD, remote monitor applications, and central monitoring function. Specially designed GV-1480H Hot Swap DVR System had been implemented into several Northern African branches of a global logistics company providing the Headquarter with the ability to monitor cash processing activities from a central location.

Cash transit and cash processing are one of the most used service offering provided by logistics companies to banks. The cash carrier truck collects bulk cash from the bank branches, and then transports cash to the cash processing center. After the center staff has processed the cash, the trucks will deliver the cash to other bank branches according to the bank clients' requirements.

In order to ensure strict security of cash processing at the logistics center, the logistics company had planned to implement advanced digital surveillance systems into their Northern African branches to fulfill their high profile surveillance requirements. All the cash collected from the bank branches and ATM machines have to be processed at their local logistics branches and counted under cameras with accuracy before they are redistributed to the central bank or other branches. GeoVision's GV-1480H Hot Swap DVR Systems, featured with scalable remote viewing and central monitoring applications, have been implemented into their branches and become an important approach to provide a secure environment for cash processing.

The old DVR recorders implemented at the cash processing centers were insufficient with the capabilities of 30 FPS real-time recording, simultaneous 16 channels monitoring, video networking, 3 months of video storage capacity, hot swappable HDD solution, and multiple sites central monitoring. They have replaced the old systems with GeoVision's GV-1480H Hot Swap DVR with 8 bays, and GV-Center V2 Pro that provide them with full DVR requirements and the ability to centrally monitor a maximum of 800 cameras from 500 GV-DVR Systems.

As the trucks loaded with money return to the cash processing center, the cameras at the entrance capture the vehicles images with the license plates and entry time. GeoVision system will record all activity while:

1. Cash is being offloaded from the trucks

2. Center staff is handling the cash in the work areas

3. Cash is being re-loaded to cassettes and trucks

Above each work table cameras are recording. GeoVision system will monitor all the process and record high resolution videos which are available to the customers for routine and random inspection. The GeoVision video surveillance system will record on motion detection and send the motion-triggered video to the GV-Center V2 Pro implemented at the Logistics Headquarter and help secure cash processing in the cash processing centers.

The GV-Center V2 Pro can automatically activate alarms to notify the Headquarter security operators based on 19 most frequent alert conditions in a security event, such as Scene change detection, camera connection lost, monitoring stop, local GV-system logout, camera motion detection, and abnormal network/system health status. Most of the alerts can be verified in video evidence before the operators take responsible actions.

With GV-1480H Hot Swap DVR and GV-Center V2 Pro responsible for the real-time remote monitoring and management of the bulk cash, the logistics company will be able to reduce risk, enhance employee security, and improve surveillance efficiency. By implementing technologically-advanced GV-Hot Swap DVR systems, the logistics company has also successfully demonstrated to the customers their commitment to trust and accuracy.
