Emuge Expands End Mill Offering With High Productivity Cutting Tools

WEST BOYLSTON, MA USA (April 10, 2006) - Emuge Corporation has announced the expansion of their milling product line to include new end mills designed for challenging cutting applications. The new end mills join a comprehensive line of solid carbide, PCD and CBN products that are all pre-engineered for the specific cutting application and are precision-manufactured for optimum performance, durability and tool life.

The expanded end mill line reflects the expertise and manufacturing techniques developed through many years of application research and continuous product enhancement. The end mills are produced from select sub-micro grain carbide and include: Hard Cut, which can handle material ranging from construction steels and tool steels to cast iron; S-Hard-Cut for milling hardened steels and cast irons; and N-Cut, which cuts everything from construction, alloyed, tool and hardened steels to aluminum, alloys and synthetics. The latest additions to Emuge's end mill line complement an extensive series of solid carbide, PCD and CBN end mills.

Emuge's carbide is manufactured using the "Hot Isostatic Process" and is sintered from extremely fine carbide grains. The end mills are intended for hard machining at high speeds and fast feeds, and provide extended tool life and a high degree of accuracy.
PCD (Poly-Crystalline Diamond) creates an extremely efficient tool for machining highly abrasive, non-ferrous materials, including graphite, high-silicon aluminum alloys, fiber-reinforced synthetics and copper alloys. These tools feature a "coolant-thru" design for efficient evacuation of dust and chips.

CBN (Cubic Boron Nitrate) provides the cutting edge for long-lasting end mills that proficiently machine hard steels to 66Rc, as well as hard castings, Inconel, Monel and Stellite. Both PCD and CBN end mills are extremely durable, providing up to 50 times more tool life than conventional carbide end mills.

The new end mill program encompasses a comprehensive offering of over 65 stock items in more than 10 different styles, including radius corner end mills and high productivity cutting tools. The program includes tools in cutting-diameters from 3/32 to 1 inch. A full range of metric size tools is also available. The end mills will be available from stock in West Boylston, USA later this year.

Emuge Corp., part of the 1,000+ employee German parent company Emuge-Werk Richard Glimpel KG, has been the product technology and performance leader in their field for over 80 years. The company manufactures an exhaustive line of taps, end mills, thread mills, thrillers, holders and attachments, over 100,000 items sold through distributors worldwide.

North American Headquarters of Emuge are located in a new state-of-the-art technology center in West Boylston, MA USA, where manufacturing, demonstrations, training and applications solutions are managed and over 10,000 types of cutting tools and accessories are stocked for prompt shipment. Hard milling and other end milling applications will be demonstrated at the tech center. Emuge also offers end-user technical support through a network of in-the-field engineers with extensive tooling experience.
