3-Position Enabling Switch Meets ANSI-RIA 15.06


Elmsford, New York, August 5, 2003...SCHMERSAL is pleased to announce the introduction of their new ZSD Series of robot/machine enabling devices.

Often called "dead-man" switches, the ZSD series features three operating positions...OFF-ON-OFF. The equipment power is only enabled when the switch actuator is held in the center position. Power is removed if the operator releases the actuator - or fully-squeezes the actuator...as may occur in an emergency
situation.

The ZSD meets the enabling device requirements of the ANSI-RIA 15.06 Robotic-Manufacturing Cell Safety Standard. In addition, the unit features an optional top-mounted pushbutton that may be used for "running/jogging" the equipment when powered.
