BASF Introduces Joncryl® LMV 7034, Low Maintenance Vehicle for Flexible Film Applications
WYANDOTTE, MI, March 31, 2009 - BASF, the market leader in resins and emulsions for water-based inks and overprint varnishes, is introducing Joncryl® LMV 7034, a low-maintenance, pH stable, water-resistant, film forming emulsion for flexible film applications.
Customers looking for an alternative to current water-resistant, film forming emulsions will find that the additional benefits of this new emulsion include excellent printability, good resolubility and adhesion to film and foil substrates. The new Joncryl emulsion provides better printability on poly cups and flexible substrates and good lamination bonds with standard water-based adhesives. LMV 7034 will help reduce waste and downtime that results from anilox plugging and ink buildup on plates.
"The industry finally has a film forming emulsion that provides the combination of water resistance and clean printing for flexible packaging applications," said Richard Grandke, Industry Manager for BASF Resins, Printing and Packaging for North America.
The addition of Joncryl LMV 7034 to the BASF line of LMV 7000 series resin products now provides ink makers a complete portfolio of resins and emulsions that enhance their offerings to printers and converters.
