Emerson Introduces Innovative, Low Cost, Compact Continuous Emissions Monitoring (CEM) System
New Rosemount Analytical MicroCEM(TM) offers 20 to 25% savings plus greater flexibility and functionality than traditional CEM systems
ORRVILLE, OHIO (February 26, 2002).-- Emerson Process Management has introduced a complete continuous emissions monitoring (CEM) system in two compact, field-mountable enclosures that eliminate the need for an environmentally-controlled high-cost shelter. The innovative Rosemount Analytical MicroCEM(TM) system has several advanced features that are usually only available in costly 40 CFR Part 60 Data Acquisition Systems.
MicroCEM is designed with a built-in data acquisition and handling system (DAHS) that stores relevant raw and diluent corrected emissions data, status information, calibrations and alarms for extended periods of time. The system is housed in two compact (24" X 20" X 12" HWD each) weather-resistant NEMA 4X rated enclosures that can handle ambient temperatures between -30 to 50°C. The sample conditioning and analysis enclosures can be mounted either together or separately for convenience.
MicroCEM will measure oxygen, carbon monoxide and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) using proven paramagnetic, NDIR and chemiluminescent technologies. These detectors are coupled with state-of-the-art Pentium-embedded PC electronics for maximum measurement, communications and processing capabilities. The system extracts, conditions and analyzes a sample gas and then processes the emissions data according to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.
