Andor Technology Launches iXon X3 High Performance EMCCD Platform



Belfast, Northern Ireland - Andor Technology plc (Andor), a world leader in scientific imaging and spectroscopy solutions, today announced the launch of the iXon X3 range of high-performance EMCCD cameras. Building on a rich history of 'first to market innovation' the X3 represents the next generation of cameras within the marketing-leading iXon platform.

The iXon X3 EMCCD camera range offers an advanced feature set, the highlight of which is OptAcquire (TM). This allows users to 'single click' optimize an array of camera acquisition parameters to offer best performance under a wide range of application conditions. The OptAcquire function makes the iXon X3 range the easiest cameras to use, whilst allowing complete flexibility for the user.

The new iXon X3 range also offers Count Convert functionality, allowing real time data acquisition in units of electrons or incident photons. Additional new features include Spurious Noise Filters, a Cropped Sensor Mode to significantly boost frame rates, improved Photon Counting capabilities and real time Data Averaging. Reflecting the exceptional quality record of the iXon platform, the X3 now also carries a standard 7 year warranty on Andor's UltraVac(TM) vacuum head.
