Airgain Introduces the Profile Family of Embedded Antenna Products

Low profile, high-gain line of embedded PCB antennas for next generation WLAN devices

CARLSBAD, Calif., Aug. 6 / -- Airgain, Inc., a smart-antenna innovator improving wireless connectivity in next-generation wireless gateways, routers and media systems, introduces its new line of Profile high-gain embedded PCB antennas for Wi-Fi devices. Based on Airgain's patented multi-element, directional antenna technology, the Profile series comes in single and dual band designs ideally suited for embedded applications requiring integration flexibility and low cost.

The Profile antenna series consists of ten embedded antenna products optimized for 802.11a/b/g and 802.11n Wi-Fi systems. Designed to provide maximum range for routers, gateways and client devices, the Profile series includes both on-board and case mounted solutions eliminating the need for external antennas without sacrificing performance. Antennas are available in a variety of form factors, provide peak gains of up to 7 dBi, and come in single and dual band options for the 2.40 to 2.49 GHz and 4.9 to 5.8 GHz frequency bands.

For 2.4 GHz applications, the Profile line features the Profile20, Profile40 and Profile60 cable-ready antennas, as well as the innovative Profile30, which introduces a unique board-mount antenna design that is currently shipping in carrier class products. In the single band 5 GHz space, the Profile520 and Profile560 offer compact designs that deliver maximum performance.

In the emerging 802.11n MIMO market, the need for embedded, dual band antenna solutions has led to the introduction of a series of single and concurrent transmission antenna products. The Profile20D and Profile60D utilize a single cable feed for non-concurrent transmission systems. For those systems requiring concurrent transmission, the Profile40DC and Profile40DL feature an efficient dual cable design.
