Embedded Controller Boasts 1/4VGA Display / Touchscreen and GUI

Mosaic Industries has released the QVGA Controller(TM), a C-programmable embedded computer with a touchscreen controlled graphical user interface on a quarter VGA display. The controller comes complete with a high contrast 320x240 pixel electroluminescent (EL) or LCD graphics display, a high-resolution analog touchscreen, and a built-in GUI software toolkit.

The GUI Toolkit provides an easy way to design and implement a complete graphical interface to monitor and control an instrument. The toolkit makes it easy to design a user interface containing controls that, when pressed, execute programmer-defined functions. The GUI Toolkit can also be used to display system status using graphical representations (such as bar graphs) or via text-based messages.

The QVGA commands eight 12-bit analog input channels, eight 8-bit analog inputs, eight 8-bit D/A lines, 24 digital I/O, 4 high current drivers, and two RS232/485 ports. Up to 8 Wildcard I/O modules can be plugged in to add dozens more digital and analog signals. Other features include a real-time multitasking operating system, hundreds of pre-coded device drivers, 512K Flash and 512K RAM. Pre-coded I/O drivers facilitate data acquisition, pulse width modulation, motor control, frequency measurement, data analysis, analog control, PID control, and communications.

Commanded remotely from a PC or used stand-alone, the QVGA promotes a high level of software/hardware integration for rapid prototyping of new products.
