Original Press Release:

Low Cost, Embeddable Accelerometers

June 24, 2002, Depew, NY - IMI Sensors, a PCB Piezotronics division, announces the Series 660 low cost, embeddable, piezoelectric accelerometers. The small-sized devices are suitable for a wide range of vibration and shock measurement applications and are particularly attractive for O.E.M. requirements. Three sizes provide a range of sensitivities in ICP®, voltage, or charge mode configurations. All units feature broad frequency response, high signal-to-noise ratio, wide operating temperature range, low power operation, and ease of installation.

Several applications have emerged including impact detection and recording for vehicles, packages, and stamping operations; machinery monitoring for bearing defects, gear wear, and cutting tool wear; and structure borne acoustics for guitars and safety helmets. Mounting techniques lend to embeddable or circuit card installation.
