Unrivalled Scalability, Flexibility and Visibility with Bizanga's New Firmware Release

SAN MATEO, California, January 30 // -- Bizanga has launched a major release of the award-winning OvernetOS
(OOS(R)) firmware for the Intelligent Message Processor(R) (IMP), its line of carrier-class email appliances. The new release increases the IMP's throughput to more than 8 million messages per hour with anti-spam and anti-virus filtering - and it now also handles e-mail streams of 800 Mbps as an MTA. The firmware is certified for deployment on the latest 64-Bit multi-core processors, providing unrivalled scalability. With fully integrated applications from more than 15 category-leading vendors, the IMP has a newly revised and enhanced management user interface that contains real-time views of any internal component and third-party application running on the platform.

Leading operators and service providers across the world use the IMP to manage inbound and outbound e-mail and messaging streams. In this role, the IMP lowers cost of operations while providing customers with unique capabilities to protect the e-mail infrastructure, clean and control e-mail streams, isolate compromised systems for remediation and deliver differentiated e-mail quality of service.

Enhanced core OOS(R) - certified for 64-Bit processors The company has reengineered core components of the OOS(R) to make the best use of new hardware platforms, ensuring full compatibility with new 64 Bit
AMD(TM) and Intel(TM) multicore systems possessing advanced I/O subsystems.

With the increased memory options, the system handles high-load situations even better than previous releases. The revised OOS(R) I/O components with the higher-throughput network interfaces and disk I/O system remove additional bottlenecks, resulting in increased resilience and near-wireline throughput.

Unmatched scalability

The OOS(R) revision boosts performance of the platform, enabling the IMP to process more than 8 million messages per hour with anti-spam and anti-virus filtering as well as policy routing, an increase of more than 200% compared to the previous major release. The IMP scales to handle more users per system and more e-mails per second per platform, with a record hardware density of one IMP per one million subscribers. Similarly, systems have been scaled to concurrently run multiple best-of-breed applications from different vendors. As a result, operators gain the freedom to choose the most suitable application vendor without modifying their messaging architecture and infrastructure.

New Management User Interface

With the revised and refined Web Services interface, the IMP contains graphical views of real-time events including all third-party applications running on the system. New dashboards now allow real-time monitoring of any component or application on the platform with drill-down information available on any variable or statistic. All parameters on the platform can be graphically presented, providing for easy and immediate visual identification of problem areas beyond the automatic alerting functions of the system. Also, complex filtering rules such as outbound filtering based on network parameters are more straightforward to create and apply.

Easy integration of third-party products

Bizanga has further simplified the previous release's easy integration capabilities, making the IMP's ability to integrate with outside systems more powerful. The IMP uses new, patent-pending technologies to accelerate third-party applications - such as anti-Spam and anti-virus content filters - more than doubling the throughput of such applications. Operators manage all on-system third-party applications through its single, fully integrated management interface, delivering control and visibility of all parameters, statistics and counters. Third-party application responses are available from within the integrated workflow policy processor, allowing for statistical feedback loops and self-learning workflow policies. Bizanga has enhanced its industry-leading service level agreements, providing qualified one-stop support for any problems on its platform.

About Bizanga:

Bizanga is the global company that developed the most scalable and full-featured E-mail message processing and security platform, the Intelligent Message Processor(R) (IMP). The IMP can be deployed to protect an E-mail infrastructure from blended threats including spam, viruses, denial-of-service and harvest attacks. It can also be used to perform parental control, compliance/encryption services or simply to manage infrastructure migration or new service deployment. Designed especially for service providers, the IMP is extremely easy to integrate with existing infrastructure, including provisioning systems and message store. IMPs handle E-mail for millions of mailboxes throughout North America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Bizanga sells direct to Internet service providers, cable operators, fixed-line and mobile operators. The technology is also available on an OEM basis to application software vendors. Bizanga is a member of the Messaging Anti-Abuse Work Group (www.maawg.org). For more information about Bizanga, visit the company's Web site at www.bizanga.com.
