Electrolytic System deburrs, finishes edges, and contours.

Press Release Summary:

Model EC-20-1 (Electrolytic-Series 20-Single station) cationic system incorporates switching, compact, 1,000 A power supply capable of producing pulse current down to 20 msec on/off cycles and constant voltage/current. Fixture has multiple parts processing capability, allowing operators to use programmable control system with touchscreen MMI PLC/Interface and PLC based short circuit protection for producing deburring, edge finishing, or contouring with repeatable results.

Original Press Release:

Compact Electrolytic System

SurfTran Manufacturing Co., L.L.C.- Madison Heights, Michigan builders of advanced Deburring/Edge Finishing/Contouring systems, has designed and built a new compact Cationic single station system which uses less floor space, an expanded work station area for easy load/unload parts handling and a switching compact power supply.

This system is designated as the EC-20-1 (Electrolytic-Series 20-Single station), its fixture has multiple parts processing capability allowing the operator to use the programmable control system for producing either deburring, edge finishing or contouring with repeatable excellent results.

This compact system is constructed of stainless steel and non-corrosive materials for improving the production environment and providing long-life use. Its switching compact 1,000 amp power supply is capable of producing pulse current down to 20 millisecond on/off cycles, constant voltage/current which features cross-over and provides wave-form (DC to Pulse) and ramp-up adjustability.

Its programmable control features a "Touch Screen MMI" PLC/Interface and PLC based short circuit protection, it has an expanded capacity for multiple deburring, edge finishing or contouring programs that works on virtually any metal or alloy.

How Does It Work-

Parts receive a positive charge from anode contacts mounted on the upper moving part of the fixture. Material is selectively removed from positively charged parts when electrolyte is flushed between it and a negatively charged cathode. There is no direct contact between the tool and part, resulting in no mechanical or thermal stress or tool wear.

SurfTran's Cationic systems range from single station machines to totally automatic transfer lines with excellent repeatable results. SurfTran also builds Thermal Energy Method (TEM) deburring/deflashing machines, precision aqueous cleaning and general washing systems.
