Baldor Announces New DirtyDutyWD® Motor Line

Baldor Electric Company, Fort Smith, Arkansas based manufacturer of energy saving industrial electric motors, drives and generators, announces a new line of DirtyDutyWD® Washdown Duty electric motors, especially designed for the most severe and corrosive applications in the processing industry, and extreme applications that require intense high-pressure washdown.

The new DirtyDutyWD features an all-new exterior surface coating that is bonded to its steel frame, cast iron endplates, conduit box, lid and base. This new coating is impervious to high pressure, extreme temperatures and caustic chemicals that can deteriorate painted motor components. In addition, an FDA approved surface coating offers additional protection against the most severe washdown applications and provides a level of protection suitable for marine applications such as IEEE 45 and USCG 259 (below deck service).

Each DirtyDutyWD has a stainless steel shaft extension preventing rusting of the shaft to the pulley or other driven equipment. A non-contact, non-metallic rotating labyrinth shaft seal prevents ingress of water or other debris from the motor, improving lubricant and bearing life. Four stainless steel easy-to-remove threaded drain plugs in each endplate allows proper drainage of condensation build-up or forced water entry into the motor, further prolonging motor life. ISR® (inverter spike resistant) copper magnet wire with an extra coating of epoxy slurry prevents insulation breakdown from harsh chemicals and moisture, providing extended winding life. Gasketed and sealed conduit box and lid provides protection for motor lead connections.

The new Baldor DirtyDutyWD washdown duty motors are available from stock from ½ through 10 HP, 1750 RPM, 230/460 volts, 3 phase, 60 hertz in C-Face with and without base mountings.
