Electric Actuator utilizes rolling parts for efficiency.

Press Release Summary:

Type ELA is designed with ground ball screw, ball splines and angular bearings. Ball spline enables actuator to accept each load of torque, radial, and moment. Absence of oil leaks or air mist emissions makes actuator environmentally friendly. Unit is offered in Type 10 and Type 20 models with strokes ranging from 40 to 200 mm. Wrap kits are optional.

THK Introduces All-Around Efficient Electric Actuator Type ELA

Schaumburg, IL (October 28, 2002) - THK's new Electric Actuator Type ELA is designed for efficiency. The Type ELA is designed with a ground ball screw, ball splines and angular bearings. These rolling type parts, as opposed to sliding, result in performance efficiency, increased energy efficiency and improved positioning repeatability.

Designed with THK's Type LT Ball Spline enables the Type ELA to accept each load of torque, radial and moment. The Type ELA therefore carries loads without the added expense or space requirements of a rolling stopper or guide.

Because the Type ELA operates with electricity, rather than with hydraulics or pneumatics, maintenance at the power source is virtually eliminated. The absence of oil leaks or air mist emissions make this new actuator environmentally friendly.

The Type ELA is available in Type 10 and Type 20 models. Strokes range from 40 to 200mm. Wrap kits are available as an option.
